Hi Party People. So as most of you know I'm moving to Los Angeles on the 14th of April. In the mean time I'm trying to find someone to fill my position at my job. It's a lovely job, the best I've had in San Francisco. Below is a link to the Craigslist ad. If you or someone you know is interested, please send a resume to me at georgia@weltax.com Thank you!!! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ofc/299024822.html | | Friday, March 23rd, 2007 | | 12:57 pm |

Sorry if this picture is so big. This is Max, the Office Dog. He belongs to two of my coworkers, who are boyfriends. Everyday, when I come in to work, I'm greated by Max bounding down the stairs, running over to me to sniff me, then running to his ball...tail wagging the whole time. He's a very odd dog, doesn't really liked to be touched, almost like he had been abused as a puppy, which he wasn't. He's a Chihuahua/Jack Russel/Dauschund mix and looks part bat due to his, constantly moving, giant ears. I really adore Max, even though it took him about a month to really be comfortable around me. Now he lets me pick him up once in a while and, the other day when both his owners were at lunch, willingly sat on my lap for a while. I wish I could take him home with me. | | Saturday, February 17th, 2007 | | 9:37 am |

This past weekend I went to Los Angeles, the city I was born in, to visit my family. I miss L.A. sometimes. On Sunday I ditched my family because all I wanted to do was walk around the city by myself. It was one of the loveliest days I've had in a long time. Being alone in a city, familiar or not, is one of the best feelings I've ever had. When I was 15 I took my mom's car and drove from our home in Orange County to Los Angeles (my first every trip to L.A. by myself) to hear Ray Bradbury speak at the UCLA bookfair. I snuck into the sold out reading by telling the doorman that my mother was inside and I needed to get something from her. Once inside I sat transfixed while Ray Bradbury (my then idol) spoke. Afterwards I went to the front of the stage, where Mr. Bradbury was talking to the press, and gave him a three page letter I had written him over the past week. As I left UCLA I felt like I was walking on air. To commemorate the experience, I went to Melrose and convinced a creepy body peicer that I was 18 and got my left nipple pierced. That was one of the best days of my life. Two weeks later I got a package in the mail from Ray Bradbury. Among other things, he sent me a book which he had written "Onward, Georgia!" in. I still have it, although I never read the book in which he had written. I'm a procrastinator...in fact, I should be studying right now. | | Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 | | 8:40 pm |
This Time I Got It All Figured Out
Did you know that I know every word to every Operation Ivy song? I'm listening to them for the first time in almost ten years...it's bringing up weird emotions. I wouldn't go back to my teenage years for all the money in the world. | | Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 | | 3:23 pm |
Christmas was really fun, even for this Jew. Audrey spent the night and somehow held herself back from waking me and Chad up at the crack of dawn to open presents. When he and I got up at around ten she was calmly watching A Christmas Story, a huge change from the night before with her incessant "Dad can we pleeaaasseee open presents tonight???!". Cute. For Christmas, I'm taking Audrey to the salon I used to work at tomorrow to get a haircut by a really great stylist. I'm getting my hair cut too and we're both really excited about it. I've been growing my hair out and it's gotten really long, but it's also a big mess. I got Chad lots of little things including: an awesome pair of shoes, the I Am Plastic toy book along with some toys, a subscription to Juxtapose magazine, boxers, pajama pants, an Onion newspaper day calendar, and the second season of I Am Alan Partridge which hasn't come in the mail yet. Chad got me a shit load of gifts including: the Amy Sedaris book, the Post Secret book, a little food processor (yay!), a microplane and a couple other graters which I've been wanting for a while, a new pair of Converse (gun-metal low tops), a single-cup coffee maker, a panini press/grill which is fucking awesome (we've already made about 10 grilled cheese sandwiches with it), a pink Nintendo DS lite which is really cool but also kinda for him too. After we finished opening gifts we took the train into town to see Children of Men which was an amazing movie. It kinda made me want to kill myself, but it was a very moving, well made movie none-the-less. You should see it. After the movie we walked to Naan & Curry for lunch. The food there is great but you always leaving reeking of tandoori which really, really bugs me. After lunch Audrey went home and Chad and I cuddled up on the couch, ate homemade fudge, and watched Antiques Roadshow until I feel asleep. | | Sunday, December 17th, 2006 | | 6:36 pm |
 We came home today to find Pywaket dead. I'm very sad. | | Monday, December 4th, 2006 | | 8:20 pm |
My To-Do List For Today: Things I Accomplished: -deposit checks (my bank sucks because there are only three branches in S.F. so have to drive all the way out to Japantown to deposit checks) -trader joes (instead of going to our usual location in Daly City I stopped at the one off Geary on my way home from Japantown. The only differences were that it's bigger, the customers look more wealthy and the staff is way more attractive, but I like the Daly City location better.) -go to the dentist (I haven't been in over a year which is very not normal for me. I'm one of the few people I know who actually like going to the dentist.) -water plants -wash the sheets -go to PetCo (they didn't have what I needed.) -clean the cat box (gross) -call dad -make brownies (sometimes I put stuff on my to-do list either after I've done it or know that I'm about to do it, just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off my list...sad, I know.) -update LJ (yes, I put this on my to-do list.) Things I Haven't Accomplished: -tidy the house -email Kate (happy birthday Kate! I'm an asshole and didn't send you anything or write you an email, but you're the one who's in fucking London so who's the asshole now?) -make copy of work keys (in my defense, I tried to get copies made but they didn't have the size key I needed, so, not my fault.) -exfoliate face with new expensive face stuff from Sepora (I'm going to do this in a bit.) -study (I hate myself and want to die.) -fix my nails (I'm vain...but I probably won't do this so I'm also lazy.) | | Wednesday, November 29th, 2006 | | 10:59 pm |
Tonight I: fought with myself during the whole ride home about whether I should go to King of Thai for dinner or just save money and eat the nothing we have at home. ended up eating a boring dinner at home followed my many Candy Cane Joe Joe's (I would advise you not to buy those because you will never want to stop eating them). watched Six Feet Under. watched more Six Feet Under. got major heartburn. tried to study. ate a bunch of Tums and pouted on the couch while watching more Six Feet Under, except these were episodes from another season so I was confused a lot of the time. played fetch with Elvis with his favorite leopard-print feather ball. shivered a lot even though I'm wearing flannel pajamas and the heater is up all the way. cleaned up cat puke. Now I'm going to: wait for Chad to get home from work while I read Bee Season in bed and, oh my god, Myla Goldberg is the best fucking author ever, why didn't I know this before??? maybe clean the cat box. | | Monday, November 20th, 2006 | | 2:48 pm |
My new job is going well so far. I work Tuesday through Saturday and it's really hard to get used to. It's not a bad thing, just strange. Today I've been to a total of five! grocery stores in hopes of getting my Thanksgiving shopping over with...but it's not. My sister and her boyfriend are coming to S.F. on Wednesday and my dad should be here Thursday morning. My sister and I are doing all of the cooking and I always get stressed out when planning a menu. I'm making cornbread stuffing, tomato basil elephant ears, brussel sprouts, and a pineapple upside down cake. Add to that the gingerbread cupcakes with pumpkin cream cheese frosting I'm making to bribe all my new coworkers into liking me and I've got a shit load of cooking to do. Stupid Trader Joe's is out of Tofurkey and won't be getting any more in, where else can I get those? | | Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 | | 6:28 pm |
I had a wonderful weekend in L.A. It's been almost two years since I've been there without Chad and although I missed him, it was really nice to only have to worry about entertaining myself. ( Weekend Pictures. ) | | Tuesday, October 24th, 2006 | | 6:01 pm |

This was the only good picture from tonight...no, I"m not kidding. What happened?...I don't know. Somewhere between 20 and 26 I stopped being photogenic. Kill me now. I"m going to bed. | | Wednesday, September 20th, 2006 | | 9:52 pm |
Ya know what kind of people I hate almost as much as I hate the people who don't walk up escalators?...people who call back the number that just called their cell phone and are all "did someone just call me from this number?". haaaate. | | Friday, September 1st, 2006 | | 5:11 pm |
The end of the day can't come fast enough. This week has gone better then I expected, although it has been very stressful. Today I have a nice hangover thanks to a mere three or four beers at Zeitgeist last night. I'm getting old. I met Anne at Pancho Villa for dinner beforehand. That place is really good but my favorite taqauria is still that place on Church off Market, across from Safeway. After eating Anne and I walked over to Zeitgeist where we were met by Chad, followed by Becky & Derrick who's birhtday it was. I walked Anne to her car where she showed me her tazer...no seriously, she has a tazer gun in her glove compartment. It was terribly exciting. Chad and I stuck around Zeitgeist talking to Becky & Derrick's various friends until around 11, then came home and ate fake corn dogs and watched The Office. This morning I woke up with a hangover and that horrible thought I get sometimes after a night out: "Did I make an ass out of myself last night or was I just generally obnoxious?". Hooray for low self esteem! Today at lunch the Chiropractic Assistant hooked me up to the electro-simulation maching for a half hour while I took a nap, then the Chiropractor adjusted my neck and lower back...it was pretty sweet. All I can think about is taking a bath tonight. I need a nap, and a haircut...and a falafel from Truely Mediterranean. | | Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006 | | 7:25 pm |
I got the Chiropractic office! I'm really excited but I'm also exhausted, and I start tomorrow. I'll write a real post soon. |
